Treatments

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy is a great first-line treatment for most muscle and joint problems. Clinically proven to reduce pain and dysfunction, physical therapy also saves you time and money too.

Blood Flow Restriction Therapy

While exercise is important, there are other treatments such as personalized blood flow restriction therapy. These can give you better results with the same amount of effort (more results from your hard work). After an injury or surgery, it’s normal for your muscles not to look the same.

Cupping

Cupping is not a new therapy although it had a recent surge in popularity as high profile athletes have been seen with the characteristic large red dots on their skin during sporting events.

Personal Training

Personal training and physical therapy are closely related fields. Both aim to help individuals achieve better health and fitness. Personal training can help individuals reach their fitness goals, while physical therapy can help individuals recover from injuries.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling is a treatment technique often used by physical therapists to relieve pain. It requires using a sterile acupuncture needle that is inserted through the skin into muscles, tendons.

Golf Rehab & Training

Our expertise lies in enhancing the performance of golfers at every level on the course. With a team of highly skilled physical therapists and golf instructors, we are committed to offering you the necessary knowledge and assistance to elevate your golf game to new heights.

Sports Rehab

Sports Rehabilitation Rehab Whether you’re a weekend warrior or a serious athlete, sports injuries are a fact of life. A twisted ankle or an aching back can usually be treated at home.

IASTM

Our team of specialists uses instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM). This is a manual form of physical therapy. Our physical therapists use special metal or plastic tools to gently scrape and move the skin to reduce pain and inflammation and promote healing.

Our Physical Therapy Programs

We make sure that our patients receive high-quality physical therapy as well as training programs that are perfect for them!

The programs are designed to help you achieve your physical health goals. They start with pain management and continue to use corrective exercises to build your body’s strength.

Then, you’ll be doing functional training activities and then the injury prevention phase. This is crucial to keep your strength up and prevent injury.

Frequently Asked Questions

New Patient Questions

Do I need a Referral?

In most cases, the answer is no. Michigan is a Direct Access state, which means you have the freedom to choose the provider of your choice without a referral. However, please note that some insurance plans may require a referral from your primary care physician (PCP) or a prescription from a medical doctor.

Do I have to be an Athlete to work with Peak Performance?

You do not need to be an athlete to benefit from our services. We are here to support you every step of the way on your healing journey. Our team works with clients of all activity levels and ages. Our goal is to inspire an active lifestyle and help you reach your goals, so you can get back to the activities you love to do.

I have never been to PT before, what should I expect for my first visit?

– Your initial Physical Therapy appointment will be roughly one hour long

– Expect a warm welcome from our team!

– A couple minutes to check-in with paperwork

– It will include an Evaluation along with Baseline Testing & Measurements

– Discussing your Goals – We want to learn your story and meet your needs

– Establish a Home Exercise Program

– Outline Expectations for your Plan of Care

What do I need to bring with me?

For your initial evaluation, kindly bring the following:

  • Your driver’s license
  • Your insurance card
  • The doctor’s script or referral (if available)
  • We encourage you to bring printed copies of any additional reports or images you would like your therapist to review. We are confident that having all the necessary documents will help streamline the evaluation process and ensure that you receive the best possible care.
When can I return to my sport or activity?

Our top priority is your safety, so we will assess the severity of your injury before we make any recommendations. We believe in making modifications or scaling back activities as needed, rather than completely eliminating them. Our goal is to get you back to participating as soon as possible, while ensuring your safety.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable and loose clothing that allows for easy movement, similar to what you would wear for going to the gym or for a walk/run in your neighborhood. Athletic or tennis shoes are ideal. Depending on the treatment, it may be beneficial to bring layers or a change of clothes to ensure optimal access to particular areas for manual therapy or dry needling.

Insurance & Billing

Do you take my insurance?

We are In-Network with the following insurances. If not, we offer very reasonable Self-Pay options. We will gladly prepare a super-bill for you, which will allow you to easily submit proof of your appointment to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.

➢ Auto Insurance

➢ Blue Cross Blue Shield

➢ HAP

➢ Medicare

➢ Self-Pay Options

How much will Physical Therapy cost me?

The cost of the visit depends on your specific insurance benefits for physical therapy. Normally, patients either have a copay or deductible. Once you are scheduled, we will contact your insurance company to obtain a complete quote of your physical therapy benefits. We will present that information as a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) emailed to you and available on the patient portal.

Copay = Set Amount, Normally ranges from $10 to $50 per visits
Deductible = An Amount that must be met before Full Benefits Kick In. We collect $50 per visit that helps offset your bill each month

Will my insurance reimburse me?

This depends on the insurance you have, but YES, most non-Medicare patients can send “self-claims” for reimbursement from your insurance company for your cash treatments at Peak Performance. The amount of reimbursement or application towards your deductible is outside of our control and completely dependent on your insurance plan. You may call your insurance company to inquire about what you can expect to receive and should ask about reimbursement for “out-of-network Physical Therapy” expenses sent in via self-claims.

What payment types do you accept?

We accept cash, check, and card (including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover). We offer Touchless and Paperless Automatic and End of the Month Billing Options.
